Online Position Reports

 

Easier or Harder for the Comms officer?

 

What If...Boats without SSB could report their own position via the Internet?

• They can.  Try it by clicking on the "Input Position" button.

• They would do this directly from the boat, or call "home" and have someone else do it for them.

• They would receive a confirmation message following successful submission.  (If they save these they have proof that they were not trying to be the much feared "stealth boat".)

• Give it a try. 

 

What if...everyone could access the position reports on the internet?

• They can!  Check it out by clicking on "Online Positions" a minute or so after you submit your position.

 

What if...the web process could automatically populate an excel spreadsheet?

• It can!  Click on "Positions (.csv)" a minute or so after you submit your position.  Open the file with excel.

• This file can either be emailed to the comm's officer, or he/she can download via the internet.
